Summary
- You are bound once you accept our written quote and pay the 35% booking deposit.
- Free cancellation or rescheduling is available until 4 calendar days before the session; later rules are in section 7.
- Mixing includes 2 revision rounds; we keep session files for 14 months.
- Dutch law applies; consumers may also bring proceedings before a competent EU court.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all studio services provided by Miekpixel B.V. (trading as Miekpixel) at Wibautstraat 224, 1097 DN Amsterdam. They apply together with any written quote you accept for recording, mixing, mastering, voice-over or related work described on services and individual service pages.
The agreement consists of, in order of priority: the accepted quote, any annexes, these terms and — where relevant — our privacy policy and data processing agreement for personal data you supply as client. Only an authorised representative of Miekpixel B.V. may agree deviations in writing.
Mandatory consumer law applies alongside these terms where you act as a consumer. Clauses marked for business clients apply when you act in trade or profession.
2. Definitions

3. Pre-contract information
Before you accept a quote, the website and quote show main service features, price, date, our identity and contact details, and — for consumers — withdrawal and complaint information. Guide rates on pages such as vocals (from €98 per hour) are indicative; the quote is binding.

4. Quotes, booking and confirmation
Requests via contact, phone or email receive a quote within 2 business days unless we decline for a stated reason (e.g. unsafe planning). Quotes stay valid for thirty calendar days unless another period is shown on the document.
The slot is firmly booked after written acceptance (email suffices) and receipt of the deposit. Until then we may assign the slot elsewhere. For distance contracts we confirm by email with essential details.
5. Prices and VAT
Prices are in euros. Consumer prices include 21% VAT unless clearly stated otherwise. Business clients see net amounts where relevant with VAT ID NL886342697B01.
Extra studio time beyond the booked block is charged only with your consent, pro rata at the hourly rate in the quote — for example €125 for additional band hours when listed.
Parking, transport or hired musicians are yours unless the quote says otherwise.
6. Deposit, payment and set-off
When confirming you pay 35% of the quoted price as deposit; the balance is due on the session day (consumers) or within 21 days of invoice date (business clients). We accept bank transfer and card payment in the studio.
Until full payment we may withhold final mix or master files; raw session files follow section 11. Late payment may attract statutory interest and collection costs.
On timely cancellation under section 7 the deposit is refunded or set off as stated there; on late cancellation it may cover our costs.
7. Cancellation and rescheduling by you

Notify changes in writing via [email protected] or 020 261 4783 with email confirmation. Late arrival shortens the session without extension if the next block is booked. These rules do not limit statutory withdrawal while it applies.
8. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you conclude a service contract at a distance as a consumer, you may withdraw within 14 days without giving reasons unless an exception applies.
If you ask us to start before that period ends, you may still withdraw but must pay a proportionate amount for work already done.
Withdrawal expires once the service has been fully performed within the period after your express prior consent and acknowledgement that you lose withdrawal once performance is complete. Bespoke audio may fall under further exceptions; we explain this on the quote.
Withdraw in writing via [email protected] with quote reference. We refund within 14 days using the same payment method.
9. Cancellation by the studio
If we must cancel due to outage, essential crew illness or premises incident, we inform you quickly and offer another date. If none suits, we refund all payments within 14 days. We do not swap named engineers without agreement.
10. Sessions, house rules and safety
Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 11:00–17:00, closed Sunday.; sessions by appointment. The live room suits up to 5 performing musicians at once. Minimum age to book independently: 16; younger participants need written guardian consent and an adult present throughout.
No smoking or vaping on premises. Follow engineer instructions on hearing protection; we use moderate monitor levels. We may stop a session for aggression, theft or serious damage; fees remain due. Damage to studio gear through intent or gross negligence is charged to you. Gear you bring stays at your risk — insure it where needed.

11. Files, delivery and archiving
Unless the quote says otherwise, we deliver mixes and masters as 24-bit WAV via secure download. Offline mixing starts once complete, sync-ready multitracks or stems arrive; see stems guide.
We keep session and project files for 14 months after the last activity on that job, then delete unless you purchase extended storage in writing. You must download and back up within that window. Raw recordings may be priced separately when stated on the quote.
12. Revision rounds
Offline mixing includes 2 revision rounds as on mixing. One round means one bundled note list processed in a single pass. Extra rounds or a new artistic direction after approval are quoted separately. Mastering follows mastering with similar terms on the quote.
13. Intellectual property and your warranties
Your works. Compositions, lyrics and samples you supply remain yours or your licensors’. You warrant rights to record and mix them, including clearance for covers and samples, and handle collective management where required.
Recordings. When you commission and fund recording, you are producer of the phonogram unless agreed otherwise in writing. After full payment Miekpixel B.V. does not claim exclusive exploitation rights.
Studio materials. Our presets, templates and internal chains stay our property; delivered bounces do not.
References. We use your artist or project name in marketing only with written consent.
AI and voice. We do not train generative models on your recordings or clone voices without written consent of the person concerned.
14. Liability
We perform services with professional studio care; artistic outcome also depends on performance, arrangement and gear choices. We do not guarantee chart or streaming results.
Liability for attributable breach is limited to direct damage up to the quote amount, except where mandatory law requires more or in cases of intent, wilful recklessness or personal injury. For business clients indirect loss, lost profit and reputational harm are excluded where permitted.

15. Force majeure
Force majeure — e.g. grid failure beyond our fault, pandemic restrictions, or critical subcontractor failure — postpones performance without damages. Parties inform each other promptly. If it lasts more than 28 days either may terminate; amounts for unperformed services are refunded.
16. Personal data
We process personal data under our privacy policy. If you supply artist, guest or narrator data as a business client, our data processing agreement applies where needed. The contact form uses FormSubmit (US); see legal notice.
17. Complaints, disputes and jurisdiction
Send complaints in writing to [email protected] or Wibautstraat 224, 1097 DN Amsterdam. We acknowledge and aim to respond within 2 business days.
Consumers may use the EU ODR platform (ODR) and remain free to choose a competent court. Miekpixel B.V. does not automatically join a sector dispute board.
Disputes between businesses are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
18. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Consumers resident in another EU member state keep protection of mandatory rules of their country of residence where applicable.
We may amend these terms; the version on your quote date governs your job. We publish updates with date 14 October 2026. The Dutch text prevails over translations.
If a clause is void, the rest remains and the void clause is replaced by a valid one closest in purpose.
